Network Traffic Shaping Solutions |
The Challenge - Configure Network to use two seperate Internet Connections based on type of traffic When a Michigan Financial Services Group was looking to add additional bandwidth for their network, they provisioned a second Internet connection from an Internet Service Provider. The goal in adding this second circuit was to shape the network traffic so that their day-to-day business operations would continue to use their existing connection to a Hosted Service Provider network and all other Internet based traffic would use this new connection. The Solution - Soltech Network Architecture and Engineering ServicesOur Network Engineering services designed a Network Architecture that would support the customers traffic shaping requirements. This was accomplished by determining what the customers "interesting traffic" is and routing that traffic appropriately over the Hosted Service Provider network connection. All other traffic, such as Internet Web Browsing, is routed to the new Internet Service Provider connection. This solution allows the network to take advantage of two seperate Internet Service Provider connections. It frees up needed bandwidth on the business critical hosted services connection and improves the overall network performance.
