The Challenge - Novell Groupwise email system experiencing performance issues

A Client with a large Novell GroupWise email system was experiencing slow performance and users not able to login to access their email.  

The Solution - Soltech's Novell Network System Administration Services

Soltech Engineers examined the GroupWise systems configuration and performed extensive diagnostics of the server systems hardware. We were able to diagnose the problem as being a defective and mis-matched drive array. A failed hard drive in the system had been replaced 9 months earlier. The replacement drives speed was greater than the original drives shipped with the server system causing a mis-match in drive performance. In addtition, the remaining original drives were experiencing intermittent failures and long read/write times trying to access data from the disks. Soltech was able to communicate to the Hardware Vendor these problems and were able to replace the remaining original drives with matched drives under the manufacturers warranty terms. 

The result has been improved overall system performance and the GroupWise system has been running stable.
