The Challenge - Water Damaged Network Electronics

When a local professional office experienced network service disruption they called Soltech to troubleshoot the problem. Our staff determined that water damage had ruined their equipment which was housed in a furnace room with the telecommunications system service panel.

In addition, it was discovered that the network equipment was not securely mounted and was hanging from the patch cables connecting the equipment to the network.

The Solution - Soltech Technology Solutions Structured Cabling

Soltech proposed to extend the wiring from the telecommunications system/furnace room to an inside office location. This would allow for the network electronics to be mounted in a safe, secure and climate controlled area. With the use of an APC Netshelter rack, the equipment could be securely housed while allowing ample room for additional equipment and future growth. An APC Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) was added to provide conditioned power to the network equipment and battery backup to keep the equipment running in case of a power failure.
